My love for baseball began when I was seven, standing on a field in Venezuela at a national championship. In that moment, I knew the game would shape the rest of my life.

At nineteen, I signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. I wasn’t the tallest, the fastest, or the strongest — but I was relentless. I fought through every obstacle with heart. What held me back wasn’t my swing… it was my mind. I had the talent, but I didn’t yet have the mental toughness to rise to the MLB level.

That realization changed everything. It became the reason I created JC Hitting Performance — not just to build better swings, but to build stronger athletes from the inside out. Athletes who can handle pressure. Athletes who believe in themselves. Athletes who don’t break.

My coaching journey began in 2019 with my mentor, Gregor Blanco. Then COVID hit, and everything stopped — except my purpose. I taught in parks, in backyard cages, even on top of a car shop. The location didn’t matter. My hitters trusted me, and their results proved that passion beats circumstance every time.

By March 2023, it was time for the next level. With the help of the most loyal partner, David Vidal, we built our facility with our own hands. We painted the walls, installed the cages, and figured out everything we didn’t know — because we shared one mission: to create the best hitting facility in South Florida.

David, an 8th-round draft pick and ex-professional player, went through the same mental battles I did. That’s why we are obsessed with giving our athletes every tool — mechanical and mental — to succeed.

And now, with young, driven talent like Lucas Moreno, whose work ethic pushes the standard even higher, our team is stronger than ever.
